Last Saturday, Luca and I went to Washington DC on board of The Jet and we LOVED IT. Here’s why:
✔️Plush seats with gel-foam base and memory-foam back
✔️6 feet of space between rows
✔️14 passengers total
✔️Motion-cancelling hover seats that eliminates 90% of all bumps and vibrations from the road
✔️Extra-reclining seats
✔️On call bus attendant
✔️In-seat service – complimentary drinks and snacks
✔️HiFi WiFi™ – fast and reliable for the entire trip
✔️You can reserve your exact seat(s) when you book
✔️Spacious and upscale restroom with full body mirror
✔️Between $99 and $199 one-way (depending on the day and time of the trip) for a FIRST CLASS travel experience!
Luca and I arrived at the pick up address in Hudson Yards – at 565 West 33rd Street – earlier than expected. The driver, Al, met us with a smile and offered us to leave our carry-ons on board and go get breakfast – we went to Bluestone Lane for an almond croissant and coffee and we got back to the bus 5 min before leaving since we didn’t have to be on line to get the best seats (you reserve your exact seat when you book) 😉
Ryan, the bus attendant, welcomed us on board and checked our vaccination card (now required) – masks are still mandatory unless you’re eating or drinking.
I didn’t expect for the seat to be so big (22-inches wide) and comfortable: you really won’t feel any bumps thanks to the motion-canceling technology! Luca put his feet on leg rests, reclined his seat to 45-degrees and napped right away.
I extracted the built-in tray table from the seat’s armrest, plugged my computer and my phone to the outlet under the seat, I got connected to wi-fi and worked the entire time. I never had any connection issue (even in the tunnel!). The speed was even faster than my internet at home, the Jet claims it’s “the fastest WiFi in mass transit travel, with streaming-fast internet speeds for every passenger”.
Perfect for anyone who works remotely!
From time to time, Ryan (the bus attendant) would walk around to make sure we were having good time and he’d ask if we needed anything. I ordered coffee, water and snacks and you can also order wine, beer and soda – limited to one drink per hour per passenger.
I also appreciated the upscale, bigger than an airplane, restroom, with a flattering ring light mirror – perfect for selfie – and a full body mirror.
We were supposed to arrive in DC in 4 hours and, because of an unexpected parade, it took us 30 min longer to get to destination – right in the heart of DC at Metro Center, about a 10-minute walk to the White House.
The trip was so pleasant that I could have spent another hour on board without even noticing the delay, and consider that I”m really not a fan of sitting long hours on any type of transportations!!!
Both the bus driver and the bus attendant kept apologizing for the inconvenience: they have been amazing from the beginning to the end!
The Jet pick up and drop off:
📍565 W. 33rd Street – NYC
📍 565 13th Street NW – DC
Before booking:
- Vaccination is required and masks are mandatory on board
- Check the schedule: unfortunately it doesn’t run every day (we booked it oneway because there were no bus scheduled for Tuesday)
- Don’t rely on the timing: the bus can take between four and five hours to get from NYC to D.C., depending on traffic
Let me know what you think if you book your trip!!! I can’t wait to planning my next DC getaway!!!
Wow, this is definitely the best way for me and my husband to use as a quick getaway from the city! It’s gorgeous and comfortable and would be my best money spent. Thank you for share!!!
