🌈 Times Square Arts presents a new Augmented Reality sculpture created by Kristaps Ancāns in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month – on display through June 30.
Polar Rainbow connects the North and South Poles, where rainbows don’t actually exist.
The AR installation rotates, and it’s currently above the 74W Meridian line, crossing Canada, USA, Bahamas, Haiti, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Antarctica.
Make sure to capture the amazing double rainbow rainbow above Times Square!!!
Please note: you can only see it through your phone
⬇️ Download the “Polar Rainbow App” in the Apple Store for iPhone and iPad or in Google Play.
👉 The best viewing location: along 7th Avenue, between 42nd and 47th Streets.
‼️ You won’t be able to snap shots through the app (at least, I didn’t succeed), however, you can screen record the entire experience and then extract videos or picture from the recording… that’s what I did. Click on the image below to see the reel on Instagram. What do you think about the result?
Remember to tag your pics/videos with #polarrainbow if you choose to share them on social media.
Why you want to see the two rainbows in Times Square:
- It’s such a unique experience: how often do you get to catch rainbows over the crossroads of the world???
- People around you most likely won’t have any idea about what you’re chasing… they will start to look around to see what you see, only, they won’t see it 😂 – unless they download the Polar Rainbow App. We had a blast!!!
Please, let me know if you go and share your pics and memories with us!!!
