If you’re a movie lover and/or have a passion for Italy, make sure to add this film festival to your calendar!!! You’ll thank me later.

🎬🇮🇹 “Open Roads: New Italian Cinema,” the Italian Cinema festival at Lincoln Center in partnership with Cinecittà, just opened today, May 30th.

Showcasing the best in contemporary Italian cinema, Opening Roads offers New Yorkers a chance to experience Italy’s rich cinematic culture right here in NYC – now until June 6th.
Luca and I had the pleasure of attending the opening night featuring Paola Cortellesi‘s “C’è sempre domani” [There’s Still Tomorrow]. Thank you Sally Fischer PR for inviting us!
The movie is a real masterpiece: emotional, beautiful, moving, empowering, and inspiring. The stories my mom and both my grandmas shared with me as a child started to bring back so many memories… I felt anxious yet captivated throughout the entire movie. I was so immersed in the story that I started to see colors despite it being filmed in B/W to bring the audience back to Italy in 1946! Of course, I cried at the end. It’s such a powerful film!!! It will be shown again on June 3rd and 6th: don’t miss it!!!!

Lincoln Center and Cinecittà have done an amazing job presenting a diverse selection of Italy’s most interesting movies. It’s a unique opportunity to see films that might not get wide releases in the U.S., and to meet some of the filmmakers during the Q&A sessions.
This year’s lineup includes a mix of commercial hits and independent gems, from suspenseful dramas to light-hearted comedies.
