Omg – they filmed so many movies and tv shows in NYC that’s quite impossible NOT to walk around some of the most iconic film locations, however: we’re often not even aware of it!
Few months ago (I then got so busy that I almost forgot about it), I took one of On Location Tours and I partnered up for you:
Use VIVERENY as a discount code and you’ll get 10% off!
We had an appointment in front of Ellen’s Stardust Diner, famous for their singing waitstaff, between Broadway and 51st Street.
Tony and I joined three new friends – Angie, Nicola and Jenny – while we met Chris Triebel, our tour guide.
A limo, driven by Rubin, was already waiting for us and after a little introduction, we started our tour.
Rubin drove us around Midtown, Columbus Circle, Central Park and Fifth avenue while Chris showed us some clips from the most famous movies and tv shows… I didn’t know that the pool at the top of the Trump Tower in Tower Heist was created digitally!
I learned so many fun facts and stories about Birdman, Great Gatsby, Mad Men, This is us, Friends… just to name a few. Chris is also an actor, and his passion for movies really comes through. He was super entertaining!
I would recommend this tour for those who’ve never been to NY before, and – of course – are curious about film locations: you get to “discover” the city by car while you’ll learn about the film industry’s best-kept secrets.
I’d also say it’s the perfect solution for NYC rigid winters and hot summers: we got out the car only when we stopped by the famous Washington Square Park’s Arch, Tribeca’s Ghostbuster location and at Friends’ iconic apartment in the Greenwich Village.
Public tours are about 2.5-3 hours long and cost $61 per person, while the private ones (three person minimum) are a little shorter and they cost $131 each.
