New Yorkers tend to avoid Times Square (I’m definitely guilty of that), however I’ve recently spent a night at Moxy Times Square with my friend and photographer Bernadeta and we had SO MUCH FUN!!!
Located on the corner of 36th Street and 7th Avenue – technically in the Garment district – it’s few blocks from Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Macy’s, Bryant Park and Times Square!
We stayed in a king room on the 16th Floor and we couldn’t hear any traffic noise (despite other reviews I read)… We did hear music playing from Magic Hour NY though when we were getting ready for our girls night out.
Each room is very stylish, vibrant and minimal, designed by Yabu Pushelberg.
I loved its smart and flexible furniture! A foldable table-and-chair is hanging on the wall (easy to use, without occupying space when you don’t need it), together with pegs for clothing. While the close-at-hand hangers on the wall are replacing the typical closet, you can also use the under bed storage.
The bathroom is spacious, industrial and chic, with an oversized luxury walk-in shower. I’d probably add a shelf for women’s toiletry bags, however we could live without it. I guess this happens when designers are men 🤪
The hotel offers free access to streaming apps like Netflix, HBO go, Pandora, etc… and free and fast Wi-Fi; even if we probably stayed in our room for 6 hours total – we spent the night at Magic Hour Rooftop and Lounge and we went to bed at 4am, after having fun posing in the empty hall… It was amazing!
For this occasion, we came up with the term “stayUPcation“.
There’s a 24-hour fitness center we didn’t get the chance to visit this time, while we enjoyed spending time at Bar Moxy, a charming, hip, and flooded with natural light seating and co-working space located at the second floor, featuring an inviting all-day food and cocktail menu.
A simple breakfast (tea or coffee, fruit, yogurt and light snacks) could be added to your stay, and you can also buy specialty coffees and freshly baked artisanal pastries at Café d’Avignon Popup, located at Moxy Bar.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Moxy Times Square is also offering special rates of $105 /night for 8 nights or more as part of Workcation package!
Perfect for all New Yorkers who need a break from their roommates or are up for a staycation experience.
The hotel is also pet friendly: 20 lbs. or less dogs are welcome and there’s a one-time, non-refundable fee of $150 per pet at checkout.
Why would you book your stay at Moxy Times Square?
- The hotel’s prime selling point is its price: incredibly affordable without sacrificing style or comfort
- Location, location, location 📍485 7th Avenue (at 36th St), New York
- Simple breakfast included
- Inviting and cozy co-working space that turns into a lounge
- Easy access to Magic Hour Rooftop and Bar Lounge, located at 18th floor of the hotel (you’ll have to exit the hotel to enter Magic Hour, while you can go back to your room just using the elevator from the rooftop)
