If you haven’t heard about the new Star Princess and Sun Princess yet… spoiler alert: these ships are LOVE at first sight!
When Princess Cruises invited me to the exclusive preview of Love by Britto at Chelsea Pier in NYC, I didn’t expect to step into a world where every detail screamed LOVE. And if this was just a preview of what guests will experience on board… sign me up for the real deal!!! 🚢
The entire event space at Pier 59 was transformed into a ship beautifully decorated with hearts, colors, and joy everywhere. The artist? None other than Romero Britto, one of my absolute favorites. And YES – I got to meet him… you can’t even imagine my excitement!!!
His art is pure happiness. Vibrant, playful, and contagious. His signature hearts were everywhere: on plates, mugs, even silverware. Each table was set with dinnerware designed by him, heart-shaped napkins, and candlelight. Every single detail screamed love 💕
Upstairs, a champagne wall. Ring a bell, and a glass magically appeared. Downstairs, the main event: a five-course dinner curated by Chef Rudi Sodamin, Head of Culinary Arts for Princess Cruises.
Every dish was a masterpiece: wild mushroom cappuccino with truffles, tuna and avocado with pomegranate, choice of prime beef & wagyu or sea bass with caviar (DELICIOUS), and Lava Cake desserts inspired by Lionel Richie and Tyra Banks (yes, really!) followed by coffee and chocolates. It was to die for.
My favorite drink? “Strawberry Love Potion,” made with vodka and strawberries, served in a heart-shaped glass… for someone who usually loves a full-body red wine, that was a first!
This preview was meant to give guests a taste of what’s to come onboard the Sun Princess (launched in October 2024) and the Star Princess, setting sail in September 2025. Both ships are designed to bring next-level innovation, luxury, and unforgettable dining experiences to the high seas.
