Fun fact: the same episode was also aired in Italy as “La Seconda Casa Non Si Paga Mai“ and we got dubbed in Italian… it’s quite hilarious for us hearing somebody else speaking in our language for us!
The year before, Luca – besides working at his own pizzeria Sottocasa – got a second job as a ski instructor in Hunter Mountain. He spent the entire season at dear friends’ house in Newburgh, driving an hour a half to get there after making pizzas in Brooklyn and commuting another hour to the slopes the next days.
Wanting to escape NYC for a couple of days a week and spending some time in the nature got us look into buying a house Upstate NY…
Luca is also very much into DIY so, while watching HGTV, he noticed they were casting for the new season hosted by Matt Blashaw… that’s how our adventure began.
He emailed the production, we had few Skype interviews and we ended up being selected. I still can’t believe how lucky we got!!!
