Ready to ice skate on the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere?!
Sky Skate, presented by Dunkin’ Rewards, just opened at the Edge and it is made of environmentally friendly synthetic zero-energy form of ice called Glice®: you’ll be able to skate inside (no need to bundle up), taking in the view on NYC!
I went on Tuesday morning, I never “Gliced” before then, and I had a blast!
Glicing is easier for beginners – the syntactic ice gives you more friction so you won’t have any problems standing up – while it’s a little harder for skilled skaters as it takes practice to learn how to put pressure on the rink to speed up: you’ll learn in less than 10 min and it’s such a great workout – get ready to sweat much more than on a regular ice rink!
Note: the rink is quite little and yet, it’s still super fun as they only allow 20 people during each session… I’m already planning to go back!
